Tabloid Version 0.8beta ------------------------------------------------------------ Copyright JEMWorks Software, 2000 http://www.jasonya.com/jemworks jemworks@jasonya.com ------------------------------------------------------------ System Requirements: Macintosh PowerPC running system 7.6 or better, has not been tested with OS 9 or OS X. Tabloid is a program designed to ease HTML Table development by providing a GUI, true WYSIWYG environment for table layout. This is a beta release and doesn't have all the feeatures I envision for the final product and probably has some bugs I'm not yet aware of, fair warning. Currently there is no formal documentation, although the program is pretty straightforward: When the application is opened it will bring up an empty Tabloid document. Add pictures to the document by selecting Add Pictures from the File menu, by dragging and dropping from another application or the desktop, or by cutting and pasting an image from another program. Drag the pictures around and position them the way you want them. If they overlap the pictures will be outlined in red instead of blue. To modify attributes (TAGS) for the pieces- select the piece and select Information from the Pieces menu. To save in native Tabloid format (for editing later) select Save from the File menu. To create an HTML table, select the Export to HTML option from the File menu. You will be prompted for a file name for your HTML file. NOTES: 1. Tables are exported with absolute dimensions for cell sizes. This ensures that everything will appear in your browser as it does in Tabloid however it means that the size of the table is unadjustable in a browser and may cause problems if the table is large and a viewer has a small screen. 2. Tabloid format files store all the information about the table, including images, so that they contain a complete, portable record. However, currently there is no in-program method of saving the images in a file to the disk. The images used in the table must be in the correct location relative to the saved HTML table in order for things to look right. See the included table and images folder for an example. This software is distributed as Egoware. Egoware is freeware which requires that you keep a tag, link, etc. by which the author can keep tabs on their work. Please leave the ego-info hidden in the TABLE tag intact in any HTML generated with this program and drop me an email me if you use it. This software is distributed as is with no guarantees, no nothing. Bugs, suggestions, raves, rags- email me at jemworks@jasonya.com
